Authors of Lettering & Type Nolen Strals and Bruce Willen will be presenting Post Typography’s “Greatest Misses” at The Type Directors Club in New York City on April 17, 2014. As part of TDC’s ongoing series of Salons the lecture will focus on never-before-seen projects that fell short, missed the mark, or were blown off-target by the fickle winds of client taste. TDC is the leading international organization whose mission is to support excellence in typography.

Lettering & Type authors Bruce Willen and Nolen Strals were recently interviewed by Elliot Jay Stocks for the new limited-edition typography magazine 8 Faces. Willen and Strals talk about the inspirations and process behind Lettering & Type and pick the eight fonts and lettering styles that they would wish to be marooned with on a proverbial design island. Also included in the first issue are interviews with Erik Spiekermann, Jessica Hische, Ian Coyle, Jason Santa Maria, Jos Buivenga, and Jon Tan. Physical copies of the magazine have sold out, but a high-res PDF can be downloaded from the 8 Faces website.
Authors of Lettering & Type Nolen Strals and Bruce Willen were interviewed by WYPR Baltimore Public Radio back in June. Listen to the full segment here.
